We recommend arriving early. Traffic will be heavy around the show, please plan accordingly.

Shuttles to and from the show are free!

General public parking

Off-Base Bus Shuttles – We recommend using the off-base shuttle buses to get to the airshow; PLEASE CARPOOL. Buses are free and start running at 9 a.m. from three locations.

The general public may also drive to JBLM; however, due to limited parking, PLEASE CARPOOL.

From I-5, take exit 125 and enter JBLM at the McChord Field gate. From there you will be directed where to park.

Bus Option from Thurston County

Intercity Transit is providing earlier service on Route 620 for those attending the JBLM Airshow this weekend, July 15 and 16. Passengers can transfer to the Pierce Transit Express at the SR 512 Park & Ride. Passengers returning to Thurston County from the event can take Intercity Transit’s regularly scheduled inbound service from the SR 512 Park & Ride. The schedule is available at https://www.intercitytransit.com/plan-your-trip/routes/620

ON-BASE HOUSING SHUTTLES

In support of the families living on JBLM, shuttle services will be available on 15-16 July to provide transportation to the JBLM Airshow & Warrior Expo. Go Transit shuttle buses will be staged starting at 8 a.m. at five elementary schools on JBLM (Rainier, Hillside, Beachwood, Meriwether and Evergreen) and will depart approximately every 25-30 minutes to Stone Ed Center. At Stone, families will transfer to a 44 PAX bus and head to the drop-off/pick-up point at JAWE. Family members on McChord Field can catch a shuttle van at Carter Elementary School to go directly to the air show. The shuttle vans/buses will be available to return to Stone Ed Center with transfer to each of the elementary schools from JAWE (Carter Elementary service will be a direct return). Buses will be marked with placards in the windshield for each elementary school. Each elementary school will have a placard designating it as a JAWE pick-up point. The last pick-up each day is at 3:30 p.m., and the last return trip from the JAWE is 6 p.m. Three vans will continue supporting Service Members that schedule transportation through the GoTransit APP.

DOD ID card holders may also drive to the airshow; PLEASE CARPOOL due to limited parking. Please use the McChord Field Barnes Gate from Perimeter Road or drive across Unity Bridge from Lewis Main, and park in any open parking lot on McChord Field south of Col. Joe Jackson Blvd. There will be shuttle buses on the boulevard to get you to the airshow entrance.
